You look like you have it all together but your nervous system tells a different story.
You’re tired of holding it all, of trying to be everything to everyone. Therapy here isn’t about “fixing” you —it’s about remembering yourself.

For the wild the weary and the awakening

You hold so much—for your family, your work, your world. Here, therapy is a space to set it all down. To Soften, breathe, and come back to yourself.
At Ember Oak Counseling, my approach is centered around understanding your unique experiences and providing you with the support you need to foster growth and healing. Here’s how I help you:
☾ Exploring Your Inner World**: Together, we’ll dive into your thoughts, feelings, and core beliefs. I prioritize active listening to gain a deeper understanding of your past, present, and future concerns, helping you make sense of your experiences.
☾ Identifying Root Causes**: Rather than just treating symptoms, I focus on uncovering the underlying issues that contribute to your challenges. This deeper exploration allows us to develop more effective and lasting solutions.
☾ Addressing Mind and Body Connection**: I recognize that mental distress can impact your physical well-being. I’ll help you understand how stress and emotional challenges affect your body, and we’ll explore nutritional imbalances that may be influencing your mental health.
☾ Equipping You with Practical Tools**: I provide you with tangible tools and techniques to help regulate your nervous system and enhance your daily comfort. These strategies are designed to empower you in managing stress and anxiety in your everyday life.
☾ Personalized Approach**: I believe that one size does not fit all, and I tailor my methods to meet your individual needs. Whether you're a new mom, navigating life transitions, or seeking greater self-awareness, my goal is to support you on your unique journey.
Together, we’ll work towards enhancing your well-being and building a fulfilling life that aligns with your true self.
How I Help
☾
Welcome to Ember & Oak! I’m Brittany, a dedicated LPC-Associate under the supervision of Shawna Lovin LPC-S. I created Ember & Oak for the women who hold it all together — until they can’t. I know the ache of burnout, the detriment PTSD, the tenderness of motherhood, and the longing to feel at home in your body that more often than not feels like a battleground.
My approach blends evidence-based therapy with deep nervous sustem work, somatic awareness, and the kind of soulful reflection that invites real change— not just coping.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It is about remembering yourself — slowly, safely, and without shame.

Why I Do Not Accept Insurance
Ember & Oak Counseling Operates outside of insurance networks to preserve the integrity and privacy of the therapeutic process. Working independently means your healing isn’t limited by time caps, diagnosis codes, or the demands of third-party systems. I don’t believe meaningful therapy should begin with labeling your pain as a disorder. By choosing to work privately, we create space for authentic, whole-person healing— rooted in trust, confidentiality, and the natural pace of your nervous system.
